SPRING

Stacey Stephens

It's been a busy spring as we approach wedding, shower and party season here in the South! If you're following along on Instagram, you've seen a few sneak peeks, but here is a quick preview of the projects I've been working on!

As summer weddings approach, I've been working on day-of details and guest goodies (which you know are my favorite!)

Planning a wedding? A shower? A spring soiree? Would love to work with you to make your event unique, thoughtful and seamless.

Calligraphy: Lewes Lettering

Stacey Stephens

Our next calligrapher and handletterer is Katy, from Lewes, Delaware. We recently connected and I love her casual, fun style:

Hi! My name is Katy and I am super passionate about all things calligraphy & paper! I began working on my calligraphy when I got engaged. I knew I wanted each of my guests to receive hand lettered envelopes & figured I could take on the challenge myself. With the help of Melissa Esplin’s class & lots of books (yay books!) I have turned a little hobby into a small business. Some of my recent work has included custom stamps, wedding invitation addressing, custom quotes & personalized stationery. I am learning more and more every day and with that taking on all sorts of new projects. My next stunt: open an Etsy store to make it easier for you all to purchase some handmade goods! Thanks so much!

SHD Holiday Gift Guide

Stacey Stephens

jewelry

1. Hattitude Jewelry - Based in Toronto, Hattitude creates beautiful, flashy jewelry from vintage pieces. They’re all one of a kind and so, so cool.

2. Ker-ij Jewelry - Ker-ij Jewelry has the coolest style. With a style like West Elm and simplicity like Madwell it’s easy to see why these pieces are classic.

3. Dee Ruel - It’s easy to see that Dee lives on the beach because her work is inspired by the water – it’s blue and light and elegant. Her pieces are especially perfect for weddings or special events!

4. Laura Cox Designs - Cool, chunky, causal wooden jewelry. I especially love the pops of color in her flashy pieces.

paper + home goods

1. Brim Papery - Jolie is the coolest. I bought her beautiful handlettered calendar last year and it’s been one of my favorite things. She’s sassy and fun and her shop is really awesome stuff including these mugs

2. 10/40 Candle Company -What’s not to love about a shop with a cause and Spiced Chai candles?

3. The Zen Succulent - You’ll want all of these glass goodies!

4. Hibiscus Linens - Based in Houston, these ladies are as Southern as they come. Their handcrafted linens make the sweetest gifts (and they’re perfect for your table, too).

5. NattyMichelle - Her shop is full of custom illustrations, hand drawn stamps and great letter-press coasters!

6. White Peach Pottery - I love these one-of-a-kind made to order mugs. They’re perfect to buy individually or if you’re looking for a new set.

7. Blackbird Letterpress - These pocket sized journals would be great stocking stuffers for your travel loving friends.

8. Richwood Creations - Custom wood pieces for your home. Proceeds go back to their local Young Life group!

apparel + accessories; skin & body care

1. Revive - A local Atlanta shop that gives a portion of their proceeds to HavenATL, an organization which gives job training and support to women exiting the trafficking industry.

2. VVatire - The cutest grippy socks you’ll ever see. Owned by a barre enthusiast and perfect for yoga or pilates, too!

3. Erin’s Faces - Eco-friendly make-up, skin care and body care. Their sugar body scrub gift sets are an easy gift that e v e r y o n e would die for.

4. July Nine - All of their products are American made and they value practicality as much as they do style. I love their simple, chic look.

other

1. Adrift Gifts - Adrift Gifts curates vacation themed gift boxes, sent straight to your loved ones. (Y’all can sign me up for the wine gift set anytime!)

2. Sacred Holidays - Helping us remember what the holiday season is all about. Digital lessons available for him, her, kids and families. The sweetest idea!

2015 Holiday Gift Guide

Stacey Stephens

I'm excited to share our latest project, the #SHDHolidayGiftGuide. My idea stems from a couple of places:

  • I've connected with so many fabulous creatives and makers over the past year who I want to support and honor and promote;
  • Christmas is coming;
  • Finding new, fun, local shops is one of my favorite things;
  • Etsy buying rocks too; and
  • We all love thoughful, hand picked gifts!

In my mind, the project is a win-win-win. What's not to love!?

Here's where you come in - by submitting names for the gift guide! Who are your favorite painters and artists and jewelers? What bakery or local shop is your new hang out? What is this year's best smelling candle, coolest decorative piece, most creative piece of pottery? Comment below with makers and their specific products - or check out our ongoing conversation on Instagram

Consider this your first sneak peek: Atlanta Artist Brit Bass creates hand-painted ornaments each year and I think they're just adorable. They're available for pre-order now!

I'll be publishing the gift guide on my blog throughout November and will be featuring a few of the shops on Instagram.

I've got a few ideas up my sleeve but want this to be bigger than my corner of the neighborhood. And hey, I need suggestions for gifts, too! Thanks in advance for your input and for making this an opportunity to support small business owners and entrepreneurs everywhere.

xoxo
